What do you hope your students learn from this course? This course should build off of the fundamentals. I want them to have a deeper understanding of the program. The big takeaway for me on this course is to have them see the common errors others make. As well start to progress to a place in which they may be able to manually underwrite the file.

What do you hope your students learn from this course? In every class I teach, I hope my students leave with a thorough knowledge of the subject I'm teaching in addition to knowing what resources are there for them to find the answers to things they might not know or run into later. For FHA, I want them to be able to go into a FHA file and be able to tell if it meets FHA guidelines. For VA, the same thing, want them to know if the loan meets the VA guidelines which are cumbersome to say the least! If it's a collateral analysis class, I hope that I focus on the main issues on the URAR and show them how to determine if the appraisal is a good one.

You WILL deal with Non-Traditional Credit, people who may NOT Deal With Banks, Gifts Funds, properties that may be “less than” completely desirable – but still MUST Meet Minimum Property Standards. All of these will be some of the reasons that FHA loans are more fun.

What do you hope your students learn from this course? The Intermediate FHA course is designed to get the DE Underwriter comfortable and fluent with FHA Underwriting. We highlight some areas of importance with regards to the FHA Mortgage Credit Analysis that require additional steps to be taken by the DE Underwriter (manual downgrades, data accuracy and the importance of having an insurable loan). I've taken many courses from HUD/FHA directly and my hope for this course is to move past the surface scratching with instruction and dig deeper giving the students some hands on application of the mortgage credit analysis required by FHA.
