Launched in January 2009, the Residential Government Underwriter Certification recognizes an underwriter’s commitment to increasing his or her knowledge and professional experience working with government lending products, such as FHA, VA and Guaranteed Rural Housing loans.
To be eligible for certification consideration, candidates must have at least two years experience in the mortgage industry, with an emphasis in underwriting, processing, risk analysis or quality assurance. They must agree to a Code of Ethics, successfully complete 12 hours of mortgage education through select AllRegs Academy coursework, and pass the RGU Assessment consisting of a comprehensive exam based on required core competencies.
